I’ve been busy even if it doesn’t feel like it

What’s up? You doing OK? Drinking enough water?

Well I’ve been busy proof reading PIAB, adding details, correcting poorly written sentences. Something I should be doing with these posts more as well.

Editing this book has shown me the error of my ways. I wanted to get to the finish line with this story and wrote as much as I could knowing that I would go back and re-read it, proof read it, add details, clean up things. Yeah that’s becoming a much larger thing than it would have been had I taken a bit more time to go over everything when I was writing.

It’s just little things like half a sentence that looks like it was copied and pasted from a previous sentence that Word didn’t pick up as an incomplete sentence and now I’m scratching my head 10 years later trying to figure out how I managed that.

The worst, the thing that drives me nuts and I know this was a spellcheck thing, the absolutely incorrect word that autocorrect decided to use in fixing typos. I get it, it’s Office 2010, it was an improvement from Office 97 that I had previously owned, but it still wasn’t that great at this. Also I now understand why editors command just high prices in many cases. As much as I love my story, this is fn tedious.

This will however be put on hold in a couple weeks as I move office space. I’ll have a dedicated machine for writing and only writing. This one I’m on is going back to being a gaming machine. The monitor I have (old at this point by years) is curved and was great for gaming back in the day but now just hurts my eyes when using it to write. Thankfully I have an old 35(?) inch Viewsonic I purchased years ago that in portrait mode is actually much easier on my eyes. excuses, excuses. I’m just saying it’ll be easier on my eyes soon.

A lot of things are happening in the personal life as well as a lot of nothing. I won’t go into it here but yeah, I’ll be disconnected to the outside world in a few weeks. i have a lot to get done before then. The joys of unemployment, things are getting dark again. but maybe this book will be the light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyway back to proof reading.
