Just thoughts about my book after watching backrooms

So I watched Backrooms tonight with friends and the first thing my friend Adam said to me was “You really need to finish your book.” We were talking about how the floodgates are opening and who knows maybe someone will see Susie Q or They Called Me Piggy and see something there, or maybe open a door for my actual book Something in the Water to get published and maybe more?

I am editing, editing, editing. 95,000 words and another 30k to go. I also have to re-read EVERYTHING multiple times because I put this entire story on ice when my mom passed away in 2012. A lot of the writing was done as an escape from all the doctor visits, and ICU stays, and and and and, well you get the picture. So what I wrote as an escape became something tied to her death.

Then my biggest cheerleader Kirsty, pushed and pushed and offered to edit it for free because she believed in it so much, passed away. So that further added to me sort of distancing myself from it.

Thankfully now I’m rediscovering it and why I enjoyed writing it. I should have it done in a couple months, then I’m going to go through the copyright process. It may go somewhere it may go nowhere but I’m actually very proud of it. If for no other reason it’s shocked many people that I could write something like this (apparently people think I’m not smart enough to color with in the lines but hey, fooled them.)

Anyway that’s just on my mind so. Hope you’re all well
